Intamac CEO joins Connected Home industry leaders at Cable Congress 2013
Parks' insight showed that:
- 23% of U.K. broadband households have an electronic home security system. Less than 20% have one in France and Belgium, while only 6% of German households have a system.
- By 2020, the U.K. and Spain will have over 20 million smart meters. France and Germany will exceed 30 million.
- One-third of German broadband households prefer a home security company to provide connected home monitoring equipment and services. Utilities are the second-most preferred provider but do not score more than 20% of households among any European country.
Home automation is a growing trend worldwide, but it raises many questions: is it a new way to generate revenue? Will it further engage customers? Is it the next step in product development? Get answers as this panel takes a close look at the latest deployments in the U.S., where home security leads the charge, and in Europe, where the focus is on controls and energy.
Participants of the discussion included:
Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates (Moderator)
Paul Dawes, EVP and GM, Security and Telecommunications Division, iControl
David Perez, CEO, Intamac
Sylvain Riviere, Director, Global Sales, Sigma Designs
Mary Turner, CEO, AlertMe
