Using the Cloud to provide new levels of protection for consumers and their property

Intamac Systems Ltd today launched a range of connected home products and services for the UK consumer market under a new brand, Halo. Halo is an easy-to-install home monitoring solution that allows consumers to remotely monitor and control their homes from anywhere in the world through a cloud-based platform accessed over the web or smartphone. Already a leading global provider of connected home technology to the telecoms, security and utility industries, Intamac enters the consumer arena for the first time with Halo.

“We are working to provide new levels of protection for people and their property,” said Kevin Meagher, CEO, Intamac. “By harnessing the power of the web we have developed a simple to use, easy to install and affordable product that can easily be scaled from a basic alarm with extras to a powerful home monitoring and control system. Halo is just the starting point; we are working to give consumers complete control of their home wherever they are in the world.”

Halo comprises a complete range of wireless, simple to use and affordable products for the home through a cloud-based service.  The products communicate wirelessly over fixed or mobile broadband and are monitored or controlled using a slick widget driven GUI. Should an alert be triggered, rather than trying to alert the police or passers-by, the system instantly notifies the homeowner, or those that have been nominated by the homeowner, via SMS, email, Twitter and voice call.

The Halo range consists of a variety of products from a wireless camera, key fob, movement detector, door contact, smoke detector, external siren, external dummy siren, water / flood detector and keypad. Consumers can pick the products right for their individual specific needs, and easily add or remove sensors at any time.

Halo can be tailored to a range of useful applications including:

Available to buy through a brand new website powered by Intamac, the system is completely wireless and can be installed in just 30 minutes eliminating the need for expensive contractors or rewiring. There are no lock-in periods or expensive contracts with security agencies, offering consumers complete control of their home monitoring setup.

The Halo 100 starter kit is available now from http://www.home-halo.co.uk/ at a special price of £199 until 30th September 2010 by entering the discount code INT1025 when purchasing the kit.
